FayObserver.com - Police: Fayetteville card game turns violent when ...

A card game in the Shaw Heights neighborhood this morning turned violent when two men shot and robbed a third player, authorities said.

But the men's plan to lock their victim in a car trunk went awry when they couldn't find the release latch, according to a Cumberland County sheriff's spokeswoman.

Lawmen are looking for Dominique Hope, 24, of the 5600 block of Hibiscus Drive and 31-year-old Maurice General, who doesn't have an address, Debbie Tanna said.

Hope and General were playing cards with 26-year-old Antoinias Lee Milton at a house on the 1200 block of Charmain Street, Tanna said. When Hope lost a round, he began arguing with Milton, Tanna said. General pulled out a gun and began firing at the ground, with one shot hitting Milton in the kneecap, she said. General hit Milton in the face, knocking him to the ground, and kicked him several times, Tanna said.

Milton gave up $300 to $500 before the two men tried to force him into a car trunk, Tanna said. The men couldn't find the latch-release to open it, so they left in a beige Chevrolet Monte Carlo, she said.

Milton is being treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Anyone who knows the location of Hope and General is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 323-1500.
